It's been awhile

Wow!  I haven't posted to my blog for a long time, and so much has happened in our lives. Tonight we have a Young Women activity about journal keeping. My blog has served as my journal for a few years, and it takes an activity like tonight's to make me realize I need to start documenting life again.  I am going to recommit to keeping a record like I used to. More to come.

40th birthday kids picture

For my 40th birthday, my kids agreed to pose for this picture without one complaint and complete cooperation. It just arrived in the mail today.

This one was taken with new baby sister Chloe 4 and 1/2 years ago.

And this one taken with newborn Caleb 8 and 1/2 years ago.

Sadie's Date Dance

They've been 4 wheeling, out to dinner, and now dressed up and ready to head to the dance. Judging by the photos, I think they're going to have a great time!

Big Brother. Little Brother.

Since everyone is always commenting on the resemblance of Cash and Chase, I thought it would be fun to take a few pictures. While trying to capture the similarity of their looks, I also wanted to capture the difference in their size.

My sister-in-law, Karin, gave me a great photographing your baby book. I am far from doing anything as cool as it's teaching, but wanted to try a couple of shots like I saw in the book.

Chloe takes a beginning ballet class once a week with her preschool friends and absolutely loves it. When I was taking pictures of her with Caleb and Cash, she also wanted me to take some of her ballet poses.

Tonight while Dad and the 3 big brothers were at young mens and scouts, I took pictures of the youngest three. It's crazy how fast Cash is growing.

Happy Birthday Chase

Chase celebrated his 15th birthday a few days ago, and got some new shoes that he let Cash try out for a little while.

For lunch, Larry, Cash and I, checked Chase out of school and took him out to lunch. It was really fun hanging out and visiting together.
Chase is a great kid. He is even-tempered and is the peacekeeper in our family. He is creative and expresses himself artistically through his unique designs--especially athletic shoes. He has a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He is spiritual, shows up for early morning seminary each day, and serves faithfully as the president of his Teacher's quorum.
He is a great athlete who loves playing on the high school basketball and football teams. He is a great son, and while he doesn't really like my hugs, he is respectful and quick to show gratitude and say kind words. He is an awesome brother, treating his siblings with kindness and especially showing extra love to Chloe and Cash.
He hates to comb his hair and dress up. He loves gym shorts, team t shirts, and awesome basketball shoes. He studies up on the latest shoe designs, reviews, and inspiration--so if you need to know anything about basketball shoes, ask Chase. He has rarely met a chocolate chip cookie he doesn't like. Chase is one of a kind and a great blessing to our family. Happy 15th!
