Great News!
I think Chloe is going to be an interior designer. She finds great delight in staring at window coverings, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and framed black and white photography.
Please don't burst my bubble and tell me that most infants have this in common. The other morning I commented to Caleb, "Look at Chloe stare at the ceiling fan and smile at it-she loves it."
His response was, "That's because she thinks it's her husband."
I'm glad that my 4 and 1/2 yr. old thinks that when a female stares lovingly, smiling at something it indicates it must be her husband. After these 14 + years of marriage I still must be showing my love for Larry.

My most embarrassing moment? Well, that Depends...
On a recent shopping trip to Sam's Club, while waiting for my payment to go through and the receipt to print, I turned to my right to notice a cute 80 yr. old man. I smiled politely at him, and inadvertently glanced down at his cart to notice 2 rather large boxes of memory foam mattress pads. Having relied on these for sleep during my restless-leg-syndrome-plagued pregnancy, I had become a fan. Seeing that he had noticed me look into his cart, I was about to make the comment, "Those are awesome, have you tried them before?" Just as I was about to open my mouth, I glanced down again and this time noticed that it was actually two rather large boxes of adult diaper pads. I glanced up again with eyes wide open, grateful that I had caught myself before uttering the embarrassing comment. Unfortunately, the second glance into his cart and the look of shock on my face was enough to embarrass the old man, as he quickly looked away. Luckily my receipt printed out and I was able to make my way quickly to the exit. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I left the store thinking of what could have been. I imagined making the comment, having him look at me rather bewildered and then going on to tell him that, "Becuase of those I have been able to sleep through the night" or "I used to wiggle my legs around all night until I tried those". It could've been bad.

Is Home School the answer?
This past week the kids have been out of school due to Parent/Teacher conferences. (I will take a second to brag and say that the boys got excellent reports. Carter, who gets official report cards, brought home a 4.0. Yeah!)
While I was visiting with Corbin's teacher, she was telling me that he likes to talk and this often prevents his neighbors from completing their work. Additionally, he tends to rush through his work, sometimes making mistakes on simple things that he knows how to do. I told her that I would talk with him about this and remarked that Corbin responds very well to praise, and perhaps if she recognized him when he was doing things well, he may have a greater tendency to repeat the positive behavior. She picked up her pen, and I watched her make a note in her book, "Corbin responds well to Prays."

Testosterone Increase
Introducing a little more pink into our household has caused the testosterone levels to peak. Since Chloe's birth, football, guns, motorcycles, basketball and wrestling have increased at unbelievable rates. While these activities did exist in our household previously, they are now dominating everything we do. Were these activities being repressed out of sensitivity to me, the lonely female in the family? I guess that now I have someone to do hair, paint nails, watch Nora Ephron movies, and go to the mall with, the manly men are here to stay!

Family & Friends Help Us Celebrate
We are so grateful to our family for coming to Meridian for Chloe's blessing. It was a very special day and meant a lot to us that so many family members could be here with us. We really enjoyed visiting with everyone.
