Coolness Factor

Carter has been telling me that none of his jeans fit any more and he needs some new ones. However, I am told to be careful when picking them out to make sure to get the right style. At one point I was told that "I still think the Gap is cool." Okay, so it's not? Seriously?

Then tonight as I'm getting dinner ready, Carter put his ipod on the dock so everyone could rock out to the Black Eyed Peas. How can you not get down to the beat on those songs? Caleb looks over at me and says,"Whoa. How are you doing that with your feet?"
I glance down.
"This?" I do the move a few more times . "I don't know," I say, suppressing my smile that I might actually have a cool dance move.
"Mom, that's so cool. Could Michael Jackson do that?"

Sweet.
Cool moves-- in my Gap jeans. So what if Carter & Chase were rolling their eyes and shaking their heads in embarrassment?

How do you know you're overdue in buying your daughter a doll?

When you realize she always plays with boys toys hand-me-downs and feel bad your feminine little lady doesn't have a mini-doll. Willingly, you give in at the cash register buying the mini-cinderella doll she has tossed into the cart. Then as you are defending your purchase to your 9 yr. old on the way home (why didn't HE get a toy?) hear your 2 yr. old daughter yell "Touchdown" as she hurls mini-cindi across the car to her brother.
At least it looks like she has great form.

Life Lately

So life has been hectic for the last few months and I haven't been keeping up on recording what we have been doing. This is a review that starts with the most recent and goes back in time a couple of months. I have been keeping really busy doing some design projects. I have been able to take pictures of 2 of the Fall Collection homes I worked on. I have more pictures of the homes posted on my interiors redefined blog.

Caleb is the one boy that didn't get signed up for football (oops!). He has been such a good sport cheering on his big brothers and spends hours in the back yard playing catch and running around with them. Like any good 1st grader, he has also been losing his teeth!

Corbin started his first year in tackle football. He is having a successful season and LOVES it. Since all of the boys' games have cheerleaders, it is Chloes new thing. She jumps and dances at the games and says, "I a che-yeeda. See? I dancing." It's pretty cute.

Carter started playing on the Freshman High school team and Chase started his first year on the Middle School team. Between the 3 boys, we have 15 practices a week and 3 games.

We celebrated Larry's birthday. What could be more of a dream birthday for him than shooting guns in the hills, eating strawberry shortcake with loads of whipped cream, eating a massive burger at Smash Burger, washing it down with a thick shake and hanging out with his family? What a guy. We sure are grateful for him and love him so much.
Even the little girls can have fun on a gun shooting outing. Nothing like running down the dirt road and playing ring around the rosies.

Is Corbin wearing earplugs for the gun noise or Jimmy's singing of Happy Birthday?

The family celebrating at SmashBurger.
Larry shared his birthday with the 1st day of school. Corbin and Caleb aren't holding up fingers saying how old their dad is (still 2 yrs. away from that age). Those are the grades they are entering--4th and 1st.
