Flippin' Sweet Weekend

We had to go to Logan, Utah for some business and took the family. The Logan temple is in the middle of town and is beautiful. We had fun driving around town and checking out Utah State. We stayed in a really fun hotel and went swimming inside even though it was snowing outside. Since we were so close to Preston, Idaho-made famous by Napolean Dynamite after being made famous as the birthplace of Larry's dad and the birthplace and growing up town of my dad. The boys got such a kick out of seeing all of Napolean's faves like DI, the Cutting Corral and good ol' Preston High. We even got to go inside and see the colored lockers, the gym and the stage where Napolean did his famous dance. The funniest thing was the kids saying that touring downtown Preston was "way cooler than when we went to New York City". Grandpa Hawkes' farm stories were brought to life as we drove to the places they actually occurred. If you are looking for a good time head to Preston and Logan. Carter got a great calculator from DI and Larry found some cool walkie talkies with 10 ft. antennas. Chloe was begging for some ceramic geese. Maybe they'll come back into home decorating style in another decade and I'll kick myself that I didn't give in. On our way out of town we stopped at the USU agricultural animal barns where baby lambs were being born. The kids got to feed the day olds with bottles. As smelly as it was, it was educational and the little lambs were so cute.
